It's quite a while since we last shared our news but as usual we've been very busy.
The Ginevra Espresso Bar which is a huge part of the Ginevra UK project has been expanding and last month "Maisie's Ice Cream Parlour" opened it's doors for the first time right next door.
Serving Northumbrian ice cream which is made with Jersey milk at the local Wheelbirks Farm in Stocksfield (just 3 or 4 miles up the road) along with Ginevra coffee (of course), the emphasis is the same as usual - quality.
One of our favourite things about Maisie's is the fact that "Affogato" is on the menu! Although traditionally made with vanilla ice cream, othing quite compares to a scoop of Pistachio ice cream topped with an espresso.
Over at the Ginevra Espresso Bar however there is another drink being enjoyed this week - Caffe alla Nocciola - which consists of:
1 teaspoon of Hazelnut sauce (find it here)
1 freshly brewed espresso
A little cream as a topping
Optional: crushed hazelnuts to garnish
Preparation could not be easier, simply pour a little hazelnut sauce in a single espresso cup, then introduce the espresso directly on top and follow with the cream. We like to mix the hazelnut and coffee right away and knock it all back in one!
